I’m Not A Kidnapper, I'm a Legitimate Businessman - Evans tells court.

Alleged billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudimeme ‘Evans’ Onwuamadike has denied being a kidnapper, claiming that he is an ornaments and Horlicks dealer.

Recall that Onwuamadike is standing trial alongside Uche Amadi, Ogechi Uchechukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi, Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu and Victor Aduba over the alleged kidnap of Donatus Dunu, chief executive officer of Maydon Pharmaceutical Ltd and collection of £223,000 (N100 million) as ransom from his family.

All the defendants who were first arraigned on August 30, 2017, on two counts of conspiracy and kidnapping, have maintained their innocence.

After being led in by his defense counsel Victor Okpara on Tuesday August 3, Evans denied all allegations of kidnapping levelled against him by the Lagos State Government, insisting he was a legitimate businessman.

Claiming that he was coerced into admitting being a kidnapper after the police in a bid to make him confess, extra-judicially killed four individuals in his presence, the alleged kidnapper also denied having "Evans" as his nickname.

He said;

“I live at Fred Shoboyede Street, Magodo Phase II, Lagos. I am a businessman and I deal in ornaments and Horlicks.

"My lord, my name is not Evans and I don’t have a nickname.”

Ifeanyi and Aduba, two former soldiers of the Nigerian Army who also testified on Tuesday, denied being accomplices to the crime.

Aduba recounted refusing to sign a written statement admitting to the crime after allegedly being ordered to do so by one Idowu Haruna, said to be a member of the police intelligence response team (IRT). He also showed the court an injury on his body, claiming he was taken to a “theatre” where he was beaten and cut with a machete by Haruna.

Aduba also recalled how three men; Felix Chinemeren, Paul Samyan and Chukwuma Nwosu who were initially paraded before the media as kidnappers, were killed by members of the IRT.

He said;

“I was still being told to sign some papers but I refused and I said if I refuse I will travel (slang for killed). At that point, Idowu Haruna brought out his phone for me to look at some pictures.

“When I looked at it, I discovered it was the dead bodies of the three men with whom I was in custody. That was how I was forced to sign the papers.”

As the defence team of Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike a.k.a Evans and that of his five co-defendants closed their case before the Ikeja high court, Justice Hakeem Oshodi gave the defence 30 days to file their final written addresses.

The prosecution was given another 30 days to respond to the final written addresses of the defence.

The case was then adjourned till November 5 for adoption of the final written addresses.

How Roman Abramovich Hass Changed Chelsea's Squad In 2 years After Eden Hazard's Departure.

Nicolas Pepe was indeed among the favourites to replace Eden Hazard at Chelsea in 2019! Thankfully, that never happened and the €80m Ivorian continues to disappoint Arsenal fans to this day.
It's been a while since then so let's take a look at what we at predicted Chelsea's starting XI to look like in the summer of 2019 and how the Blues actually lined up in the 2020/21 Champions League final.
With Hazard to Real Madrid all but confirmed back then, we were suggesting that Pepe will become our new right winger while Callum Hudson-Odoi will operate on the left.
There was little chance for Gonzalo Higuain to continue at Stamford Bridge beyond his six-month loan, so we expected Edinson Cavani or Tammy Abraham to lead Maurizio Sarri 's front-three in the 2019/20 campaign.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek , meanwhile, was on the rise at that time so no wonder we expected him to form a midfield trio with Jorginho and N'Golo Kante .
As for Chelsea's back-four, little has changed over the past two seasons with Andreas Christensen , Toni Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta still going strong.

Mr Roman Abramovich, however, has managed to transform Chelsea's squad since then way better than we expected.

Instead of the ageing Uruguayan striker and someone who turned out a flop at Arsenal, it were two arguably best German players of today Kai Havertz and Timo Werner alongside academy graduate Mason Mount who led Thomas Tuchel 's attack against Manchester City in May.
While Jorginho, Kante, Azpilicueta and Rudiger continue to be the Blues' untouchables, Reece James has managed to establish himself as a first-team regular over the past two seasons.
Edouard Mendy , Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell , in turn, were brought to the Bridge last summer to become pivotal players for Thuchel's team.
Also don't forget about Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic who started the CL final on the bench.

Which players do you expect Chelsea to sign this summer? Let us know in the comments.

BBNaija S6: Queen Identifies Pere as Her Kind Of Man, Reveals Three Guys She’ll Choose Ass Deputy HoH!

• Queen has seemed to be getting along with other Housemates since her introduction to the show last Sunday alongside three others Housemates Michael, JMK, Kayvee.
One of the newest addition to the Big Brother Naija season 6 Shine Ya Eye show, Queen has told current Head of House Pere that he’s the kind of man she likes.

Queen has also stated that if she wins the Head of House, she will pick either Whitemoney , Boma or Yousef as her deputy.
She made this known while in a conversation with Pere, Boma and Yousef in the lounge on Tuesday morning, August 10, day 17 of the show.

Queen said that if she had make it earlier into the show, she would have had the opportunity to get close to Pere because he’s the kind of guy she likes and prefers to associate with.

She said, “Pere is the kind of guy I like. He’s broad and he’s tall. I am petite so I like big guys so that they can cuddle me.”

And Boma on teasing her asked if she would have married Pere but she said no, adding that she would have just been really close to him.

As she made this confession, Pere romantically gazed at her and she blushed.

While trying to change the topic, Queen said, “I’m just here to have fun in Big Brother’s house. I’m here to catch ‘cruise’.”

And Pere cut-in, “That’s how you guys will say you’re here to catch ‘cruise’ but you’ll end up catching feelings”.

Queen still insisted that she’s in the house to ‘catch cruise’, secure the money and have fun while at it.

Pere asked: “What if love comes to catch you while you’re having fun?”

And she answered, “I’ll wait till when we leave Biggie’s house because some people can be very fake. I’m a very transparent person.”

“If I fall in love now, you people will get tired of me in this house because every time, I’ll be with that guy and I get jealous easily.”

Queen also expressed that should she win the Head of House, Boma, Yousef or Whitemoney would be her choice of deputy, although she didn’t categorically state her reasons.
